Alessandro Colombo holds a degree in Philosophy from the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan, a PhD in Economic History from the State University in Verona, an MPhil in European Studies from the University of Cambridge, U.K., and an MSc in Policy Research from the University of Bristol, U.K. His formative and professional experience has been entirely in research and service to public institutions. He was a fellow in Economic History, then Secretary and Director of the University Centre of Social Doctrine of the Church, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore and in 1998 he became Head of the General Secretariat of the Rectorate of that University. In 2004 he was appointed Director of Research and International Relations at the Lombardy Regional Institute for Research. In 2008 he became also Coordinator of Research in Social Issues, and responsible for developing research and training for researchers into politics and public administration. In 2011 he was appointed Éupolis Lombardia’s Director of Communication and Institutional and International Relations, and, in 2013, Director of Institutional Relations and Health Care, with responsibility for coordinating general practitioners’ training courses and the School of Health Managment. He has coordinated more than 70 research projects on social, health care, institutional and territorial issues. He designed the first training course for policy analysts in Italy, referees scientific journals and international conferences, and is the coordinator of the International Conference of Public Policy (July 2015).
