Mario Melazzini, doctor, specialist in Clinical General Haematology and Laboratory; researcher in the field of onco-hematology.
In 2003 he was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis.
Since March 2013 he is elected Councilor for Industry, Research and Innovation in the Regional Council of the Regione Lombardia the Regional Council, where he served also in the position of Minister of Health.
He chairs the AriSLA, Italian Foundation for research on Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, as well as Aurora Foundation, which started the Nemo South Clinical Center at the University Hospital Policlinico ‘G. Martino’ of Messina (Sicily). Moreover he is the Scientific Director of the Clinical Center of NeMo Serena Foundation at the Hospital Niguarda (Milan). He published numerous scientific articles and is the author of several books related to his experience as a doctor and a patient.
